In this thesis, we employed state-of-the-art techniques to explore the molecular mechanisms underlying the adaptations of blood vessels after vascular surgery / injury using in vivo, ex vivo and in vitro models. Moreover, building on our findings, we explored several therapeutic interventions to improve outcomes of vascular surgery.
