This thesis discusses the prenatal detection and outcome of fetal congenital heart defects. The first part of this thesis focuses to identify determinants for a prenatal diagnosis in fetus with a structural congenital heart defect. The second part provides evidence on the prognosis of specific congenital heart defects diagnoses in the fetus, as prenatal counseling remains difficult in some cases, due to the fact that little evidence is available on the outcome of congenital heart defects from a fetal perspective.
