The focus of this thesis is the improvement of diagnosis, early detection and treatment of CD in children. Increased knowledge, available guidelines and reliable diagnostics allow for timely diagnosis which can prevent complications and improve QoL, but the current healthcare approach is often unable to make the diagnosis in a timely manner. Moreover, despite timely diagnosis and effective therapy, there is a need to improve the follow up.
