Show moreLa majorité de la population de Ziguinchor (Sénégal) appartient au groupe diola. Ce sont des 'autochtones' vis-à-vis des gens du nord, en particulier des Wolof, dont la présence paraît liée à l'action de l'État sénégalais et de son administration territoriale. Les pratiques locales sont ainsi dominées par une opposition entre des représentations foncières quasi villageoises des premiers occupants et les conceptions bureaucratiques mises en ouvre par les fonctionnaires de l'État. Cette opposition crée des situations originales qu'analyse l'auteur allant de l'harmonie apparente à la confrontation directe. En conclusion, l'auteur interprète ces formes syncrétiques dominées par le discours juridique de l'État, son efficacité politique et la prégnance de la puissance publique. Show less

Show moreAnalyse, basée sur une recherche effectuée en 1982 et 1983 en Basse-Casamance, région située dans le sud-ouest du Sénégal, de la manière dont l'Etat sénégalais utilise la législation en matière foncière pour tenter de parvenir au niveau local le plus bas, celui du simple paysan. Après un aperçu de l'évolution du droit foncier à l'époque coloniale, l'auteur décrit dans les grandes lignes la réforme foncière de 1964 et la réforme administrative de 1972. Elle étudie certains effets secondaires de la réforme foncière, effets importants au niveau de l'encadrement croissant de la vie rurale par l'Etat, et elle montre que le Sénégal connaît toujours une situation de pluralisme juridique. Néanmoins la nouvelle législation se traduit par un 'consensus' provisoire, tacite et partiellement dissimulé entre les pouvoirs publics et les paysans. Show less

Het betreft een sociologische dorpsstudie in het dorp Ngamanga (Rungwe District), uitgevoerd in 1967-1968. Getracht wordt een zo duidelijk mogelijk beeld te krijgen van de dynamische processen op dorpsniveau die betrekking hebben op de landbouw en de economie in het algemeen, met het hoofdaccent op het huishouden als produktie- en consumptie-eenheid. It centres upon two aspects, writing and prayer. The present report deals briefly with the origins of the Anufom, literacy and writing, the degree of Islamization among the Anufom, the influence of Islam on daily life, Koran schools, 'Islamic magic', the use of written Arabic texts as magic, prayers, mosques, Friday services, the selection and installation of a new Imam, and the genealogy of the Imams of the Kambaya House in N'zara.
