Doctoral Thesis

The perennial competition and rivalry between individuals and the continuing redefinition of the social category of collectivity have resulted in a cultural transformation in contexts of spatial and social relationships, but not in fundamental orientations for principles. Both contradictory principles ('Matuari' and 'Tona'as') have preserved Minahasan culture and society and will continue to govern the dynamics of cultural transformations into the future.
