A New h³-index for Academic Journals

Abstract

A new index is proposed in analogy to Komulski’s h²-index, the h³-index, defined as the number of h papers that each have at minimum h³ citations. The h³-index allows more selectivity and a better benchmark. The h³-index for academic journals offers a simple alternative to existing impact factors for the benchmarking of journals.
