Reflecting on the 35th anniversary of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child: introducing the special issue

Abstract

On 20 November 2024, the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) turned 35. This Special Issue arises from a children’s rights Symposium with the theme The Convention on the Rights of the Child at 35: Developments in children’s rights in Australia, Asia-Pacific, and the World held at Western Sydney University, Sydney Australia on 22 November 2024. This Editorial provides brief summaries of the contributions to the Special Issues, and highlights several selected themes discussed during the Symposium.
