Italiaanse lessen in het primair onderwijs: Italiaans leren én onderwijservaring opdoen: een win-winproject
Abstract
This article presents the Italian in Primary School project, an initiative in which students from the Italian Language and Culture programme at Leiden University introduce pupils attending enrichment programmes at Dutch primary schools to the Italian language and culture. The project aims to foster enthusiasm for language learning and intercultural awareness among young learners while providing university students with valuable hands-on teaching experience.
The article discusses the rationale behind the project, its design and implementation, and its outcomes. It demonstrates how collaboration between a university and primary schools can promote multilingualism, support talent development, and strengthen educational practice through meaningful partnerships between higher education and primary education.
