Food and interreligious coexistence in Madina
Abstract
Food and interreligious coexistence focuses on food, interreligious coexistence, and material religion in Madina, Ghana. This thesis investigates food as a "matter" that facilitates inclusion or exclusion, specifically studying how religious sensibilities are evoked in shared spaces like markets. This work explores how food choices, restrictions, and market exchanges create boundaries or foster co-existence among Muslims, Christians, and traditional practitioners. The thesis highlight the everyday negotiations associated with food, food exchanges and sharing.
