Abstract

The volume 51 of the Flora of Australia presents 22 families, 42 genera and 238 species and infra-specific taxa of Australian mosses, including synonymy, specimen citations and notes on habitat and distribution. Distribution maps are provided for each species and infra-specific taxon. The chapter on the moss family Hypopterygiaceae treats the 3 genera and 6 species of this moss family that are known from Australia.
