Hoaks Pemilu Tahun 2024: Teropong Fenomena Hoaks dalam Pilpres dan Pilkada
Abstract
“Hoaxes in the 2024 Elections: Examining the Phenomenon of Hoaxes in Presidential and Local Elections” analyzes patterns of misinformation circulating during Indonesia’s electoral cycle, focusing on both the presidential election (Pilpres) and regional elections (Pilkada). Using quantitative content analysis of verified hoax reports collected between 2022 and 2024, the study maps key narratives, targets, actors, channels, and impacts of election-related misinformation. The findings highlight how digital platforms facilitate the rapid spread of misleading content that can undermine democratic legitimacy, fuel polarization, and erode public trust in institutions. By providing a systematic overview of hoax dynamics across different stages of the electoral process, the book offers insights for policymakers, civil society, and information practitioners to design more effective mitigation strategies and strengthen resilience against information disorder in Indonesia’s democratic landscape.
