Reescritura e intertextualidad en «Pequeñas mujercitas» de Solange Rodríguez Pappe
This research studies the fantastic short story «Pequeñas mujercitas», by Solange Rodríguez Pappe. It argues that the author uses the excess and the supernatural of the fantastic element to highlight and confront gender-based violence in the story, mounting resistance by means of popular literature’s ironic re-writing. This strategy enforces the reader’s active collaboration and prevents systematic gender-based violence from remaining unquestioned. The research main methodological axes are the theory of the fantastic (Tzvetan Todorov, Rosemary Jackson, David Roas) and the tripartite division of violence proposed by Slavoj Žižek. It concludes that Rodríguez Pappe’s strategy illuminates and denounces different aspects of gender-based violence and its roots, opening the box to think other possible orders that may start with creating a community to hold power in concert and embracing sorority as a comforting space.
