The primary focus of the studies presented in this dissertation is the improvement of treatment for femoral neck fractures. It includes a critical evaluation of the existing literature and classification of femoral neck fractures. Also it contains the first clinical outcomes of the dynamic locking blade plate also know as the Gannet implant. And it presents a framework for future research.
