Abstract
According to a dialogue-theoretical (“hyper-dialectical”) approach to argumentation, a single argument is seen as conveying a dialogical "Why? Because!" sequence. Can we see multimodal arguments as such dialogical sequences? This paper focuses on multimodal arguments with a predominantly visual character and shows that dialogues are helpful for identifying and reconstructing arguments in multimodal communication.
