This analysis focuses on argument ad feminam, a distinctive form of the abusive ad hominem fallacy in which an argumentative claim is discounted because a woman made it. As a case study, we focus on the gendered attacks that Donald Trump and his surrogates used to discredit the women who testified in the televised hearings conducted by the Select Committee to Investigate the Attack on the United States Capitol on January 6, 2020 .
