Abstract

The terms ‘political argument’ and ‘political argumentation’ are widely used, but no single meaning of the terms is obvious. We want to identify different meanings given to these terms and determine which of them might be most helpful in locating political argumentation within argumentation generally. We first explore the external relations of political arguments; then, we explore the internal features of political arguments. We end with investigating the relations of political argumentation to the public.
