Improving side-effects and quality of life of systemic therapy in oncology

Abstract

Due to extensive research efforts in the last decades, substantial survival benefit has been achieved in most malignancies and a variety of treatment options have become available. Thereby, the quest to improve patients' quality of life (QoL) while living with, or being treated for, cancer is increasingly essential. The research presented in this thesis aims to gain more insight in how to improve management of certain side-effects and create more awareness for QoL.
