A holistic, interdisciplinary approach is essential for developing a comprehensive strategy that can significantly reduce the incidence of chronic pain and mitigate the socio- economic impacts of work disability. By integrating specialized interventions from various medical disciplines, the PASTA protocol can present a forward-thinking model poised to improve patient outcomes and enhance the quality of life for individuals affected by these conditions. Despite the lack of extensive attention in the bariatric metabolic field, the rising number of surgical interventions underscores the urgency of adopting such innovative approaches.
