Abstract

The Netherlands started to support the Palestinian Authority (PA) as a new partner in the Middle East and a supporter of the peace-process after the Oslo Agreements. A development aid programme was set up with the PA. Recently the Netherlands government decided to direct its development aid to three sectors: water, agriculture and primary education. Sector-crossing theme's which get attention are human rights, democratization and good governance and women and development.
