Doctoral Thesis

The aim of this thesis is to provide further evidence for the potential benefits of the use of advanced bleeding control options, such as REBOA. Therefore this thesis focuses on the existing evidence and experience in the use of REBOA, developing training methods for personnel with limited to no prior experience in endovascular techniques and REBOA. Finally, this thesis discusses topics regarding practical issues in the use of REBOA, such as migration, partial and intermittent inflation and anatomical considerations in the use of REBOA.
